Denver Blizzard Spring 2021

The storm was supposed to come in around 2 am. We waited for our opportunity to go out into the storm and get some amazing shots. There was only one problem. The storm that was supposed to be one for the history books was running late. 12 hours late. It had stalled a bit as it climbed its way down from northern Colorado. Our plans to capture the storm as it rolled in were dashed on the rocks.

Finally, around 9 pm we decided to wait until the next day to capture images of the storm. When we woke up the next day, the storm had rolled into town and conditions were getting worse quickly. Rudy, Lexie, and I gathered our gear and began our journey downtown.

The thing about a storm like this in Colorado is that it is brutal and doesn’t waste time beating you down. All of the images you see below were captured in less than an hour. When we headed downtown it was a decent snowfall. Within the hour it had laid down 4 inches and we were in whiteout conditions.

What a blast.
